Vintage Culture
Under the name Vintage Culture, Brazilian producer and DJ Lukas Rafael Ruiz Hespanhol—born in Mundo Novo and moving at an early age to Maringá in the state of Paraná—emerged in the early 2010s on the national electronic scene through a series of remixes and edits circulating online, before releasing his first singles on house-focused labels. His work revolves around a palette blending melodic house, deep house, and tech house, with a strong emphasis on basslines, synth progressions, and pop- or soul-tinged vocals—elements he extends into club- and festival-oriented sets. Active within Brazil’s electronic music party circuit, notably around the Só Track Boa ecosystem, he gradually expanded his activity internationally, embarking on tours across North America and Europe and appearing on stages such as Tomorrowland and Lollapalooza. Numerous collaborations—for example with Sonny Fodera, James Hype, and Meduza—alternate between original tracks and co-produced tracks for vocalists, while an extensive body of remixes maintains a constant connection to dancefloor culture and favors track formats designed for extended mixing.
