Tsar B
Under the name Tsar B, Justine Bourgeus, born in Ghent in 1994, has been developing since the mid‑2010s a project that sits between electronic pop, R&B, club music and classical references, with the violin as an anchoring element. Trained as an instrumentalist, she joined Belgian band School Is Cool in 2012 and contributed to the album Nature Fear in 2014, before launching a solo career in 2015. That same year Tsar B appears alongside Oscar and the Wolf on a cover of "Back to Black" for the film Black’s soundtrack, then released her first single, "Escalate." Her trajectory was then shaped by the EP Tsar B (2016), the album The Games I Played (2018), the EP Unpaintable (2020) and To the Stars (2023). Her music blends vocals, taut arrangements, electronic rhythms and darker textures, with a pronounced taste for intersections between pop formats, R&B moods and club energy. In parallel with her releases, Tsar B has performed at festivals and stages such as The Great Escape and Pukkelpop, and has also composed for image projects including Godvergeten, Assisen, Samuels Travels and Leef!.
