Voices From The Lake

Formed in the early 2010s, Voices From The Lake brings together Italian producers Donato Dozzy (Donato Scaramuzzi) and Neel (Giuseppe Tillieci) around a slow, immersive approach to techno. Born out of their performances at Japan’s Labyrinth festival, the project focuses on a balance between ambient, deep techno and minimalist repetitive motifs, with tracks constructed from progressive layers, aqueous textures and subtle pulses. The duo primarily shapes its identity live, through long continuous sets conceived as sound environments rather than a sequence of tracks, before capturing this aesthetic on the self-titled album Voices From The Lake, released in 2012 on Prologue. Since then, Voices From The Lake has performed in clubs and at festivals dedicated to experimental forms of electronic music, while releasing new EPs and reworked versions of their compositions on labels close to the European independent techno scene.
