Mànran
Formed in Scotland in 2010, Mànran develops music at the crossroads of Gaelic traditions, Scottish folk and a direct rock writing style, featuring songs in Gaelic, dance melodies and very dynamic collective arrangements. Mànran quickly emerged on the contemporary Celtic scene with the single «Latha Math» in 2011, followed by the debut album Mànran the same year. The band went on to release The Test in 2013, An Dà Là in 2017 and Ùrar in 2021, evolving its repertoire between original compositions and traditional grounding. Over the years the lineup has changed, notably with Calum Stewart’s departure in 2012, replaced by Ryan Murphy, and the arrival of Kim Carnie and Aidan Moodie in 2019, following several earlier members such as Norrie MacIver. Mànran’s trajectory has also been built on stage, at folk and world festivals in Europe, North America and Australia, including a performance as part of the London Olympic Games in 2012 and a first American tour in 2013 filmed by BBC Alba.
