Tocadisco

Under the name Tocadisco, Roman Böer has built a career as a DJ and producer in Germany focused on club-oriented electronic music that blends house, electro house and techno, with a marked preference for direct synth lines and structures designed for the dancefloor. Born in Berlin in 1974 and raised in Mönchengladbach, Tocadisco began his professional career in 1996 at Club Unique in Düsseldorf before relocating to Cologne in 2000. He first gained attention in the early 2000s for his remixer work, producing reworkings of tracks by Slam, Moguai, The Egg, New Order, Armin van Buuren and Axwell, in a register where house energy combines with more acidic textures and a very precise rhythmic mechanics. His first album, Solo, was released in 2008, followed by TOCA 128.0 FM in 2009, IV in 2016 and Chuchotage in 2021. Alongside his own productions, Tocadisco has pursued numerous collaborations, notably with David Guetta and Chris Willis on “Tomorrow Can Wait” (2008) and with Afrojack on “Tequila Sunrise” (2011). Across remixes, singles and albums, he has evolved his writing from a nervous electro-house toward broader forms of club electronic music.
