The Foreign Resort

Based in Copenhagen, the Danish trio The Foreign Resort has developed since the late 2000s a sound that blends post‑punk, darkwave and shoegaze touches, with a strong emphasis on hypnotic guitars, repetitive basslines and dark yet melodic atmospheres. The band follows in the tradition of 1980s and 1990s indie rock, integrating synths and reverb‑soaked textures into a direct songwriting approach centered on vocals and riffs. Gaining attention on the European alternative scene, The Foreign Resort gradually expanded its touring activity to North America, playing numerous club shows and festivals dedicated to post‑punk and goth aesthetics. Their collaboration with producer John Fryer accompanied the release of the album “New Frontiers” in 2014, a key step in refining their sound, while “Outnumbered” (2019) continued that evolution with more synthetic compositions without abandoning the nervous energy of their early work. Over the years the band has consolidated an identity based on the tension between melancholy, danceable rhythms and dense sonic textures.
