Agent Side Grinder

Formed in 2005 in Bromma, in the Stockholm metropolitan area, Agent Side Grinder develops a dark synthesis between post-punk, industrial music, darkwave and electronic, with a marked taste for mechanical rhythms, repetitive basslines and cold textures. The project initially took shape around Johan Lange and Peter Fristedt, before evolving through changes of members; since 2019, Agent Side Grinder operates as a trio with vocalist Emanuel Åström. After a self-titled debut album in 2008 and The Transatlantic Tape Project and then Irish Recording Tape in 2009, the band broadens its spectrum with Hardware in 2012, where the writing gains melodic breadth without leaving an abrasive and tense aesthetic. This evolution continues on Alkimia in 2015, then on A/X in 2019, a return album after the departure of several historical members, before REMA/X in 2020 and Jack Vegas in 2023. Agent Side Grinder is part of a European scene that crosses synth, EBM, coldwave and experimental rock heritage, with appearances at festivals such as Wave-Gotik-Treffen, M’era Luna, Les Transmusicales or Eurosonic, as well as occasional collaborations with Dirk Ivens, Henric de la Cour or Kite.
