Teen Daze
Behind Teen Daze is Jamison Isaak, a Canadian musician from Abbotsford, British Columbia, active since the early 2010s in an electronic vein that intersects chillwave, ambient, melodic house and a dreamy indie pop. Teen Daze emerged in 2010 with several self-releases, including My Bedroom Floor and Four More Years, which established a language of hazy textures, pliant rhythms and diffuse melodies, quickly picked up by the online music press. After a spell on Lefse Records, Teen Daze released The Inner Mansions and All of Us Together in 2012, followed by Glacier in 2013, refining a contemplative sound in which atmospheric moods are as prominent as pop structures. With Morning World in 2015 — produced by John Vanderslice — Jamison Isaak steered Teen Daze toward more vocal-led, distinctly indie-pop songwriting. The subsequent discography, from Themes for Dying Earth and Themes for a New Earth in 2017 to Bioluminescence in 2019, Interior in 2021 and Elegant Rhythms in 2024, documents a solo project moving between subdued club music, luminous ambient and introspective songs. Interior received the Juno Award for Electronic Album of the Year in 2023.
