Takida

Formed in Ånge, Sweden, in the late 1990s around Robert Pettersson, Tomas Wallin and Chris Rehn, Takida sits in a rock register where alternative rock, post-grunge and pop rock intersect, with melodic choruses, heavy guitars and a writing geared toward the efficiency of radio formats without losing a Scandinavian grounding. The group first emerges with several demos in the early 2000s before releasing Make You Breathe in 2006, then Bury the Lies in 2007, a record that clearly widens its Swedish audience. Takida then continues with The Darker Instinct in 2009, The Burning Heart in 2011, All Turns Red in 2014, A Perfect World in 2016, Sju in 2019, Falling From Fame in 2021 and The Agony Flame in 2024. Throughout this discography Takida evolves its sound without a sharp rupture, tightening its arrangements little by little between rock tension, atmospheric accents and highly exposed vocal lines. The formation, often associated with North European mainstream and alternative rock scenes, has also worked with collaborators such as Ryan Star or Dea Norberg, while maintaining a band identity based on the complementarity between front vocal, double guitar and discreet keyboard textures.
