Sweet Female Attitude
Formed in Manchester in 1996, Sweet Female Attitude emerged from the British UK garage scene of the late 1990s. The project began as a collective before settling into a vocal duo of Leanne Brown and Catherine Cassidy, alongside producer Mike Powell and DJ Shine MC. Their music blends dance, electronic and 2-step styles with songwriting centered on voice and melodic choruses. Sweet Female Attitude rose to wide prominence in 2000 with "Flowers", produced with Sunship, which became a lasting landmark of UK garage, followed by the singles "8 Days a Week", "DJ Play It" and "Don't Tell Me". The group's only studio album, "In Person", was released in 2001, shortly before the end of their first active period. After several years of inactivity, Sweet Female Attitude reappeared from 2016 under the initiative of Leanne Brown, who revived the name for new tracks and collaborations, including "Never Had Love" (2017), "Real Love" (2018) and "Anything" with Scott Garcia (2021). This two-phase trajectory ties Sweet Female Attitude directly to the history of English vocal garage, between club heritage and contemporary revival.
