Stone Foundation

Based in the English Midlands, Stone Foundation brings together eight musicians around a modern soul that blends funk, rhythm and blues and British pop songwriting. Active for more than two decades, the collective first built its trajectory on stage in the UK soul, mod and club circuits, before evolving its repertoire toward broader tracks where soul textures remain central without abandoning the sense of groove. Street Rituals (2017), produced by Paul Weller, marks an important step in that evolution, followed by Everybody, Anyone (2018) and Is Love Enough? (2020) — three albums in which Stone Foundation refines a sound that is at once warm, direct and highly collective. This ensemble dimension matters as much as the guests, who are regularly integrated into the writing and recordings: Paul Weller has accompanied Stone Foundation on their recent releases, and the band has also worked with artists such as Peter Capaldi, Bettye LaVette, William Bell and Durand Jones & The Indications. Stone Foundation thus sits within a contemporary British soul attentive to songs, arrangements and group interplay.
