The Antlers

Formed in Brooklyn, New York, The Antlers began as the solo project of singer and guitarist Peter Silberman before becoming a full band around Michael Lerner and Darby Cicci. Situated between indie rock, dream pop and atmospheric folk, The Antlers craft slow, detailed songs driven by a falsetto voice, weightless guitars, discreet keyboards and, from a certain point, brass and ambient-like textures. After several self-produced recordings, including the albums Uprooted (2006) and In the Attic of the Universe (2007), the project attracted attention with Hospice (2009), a concept album in which The Antlers explore grief, illness and intimate relationships, notably featuring Sharon Van Etten. Burst Apart (2011) and the EP Undersea (2012) opened The Antlers’ music to more electronic and rhythmic sounds, while Familiars (2014) emphasized work on brass arrangements and more stretched-out songwriting. After a period of hiatus and solo activities, The Antlers returned with Green to Gold (2021), an acoustic-leaning album that highlights calm, luminous atmospheres, continuing a path marked by club shows, international tours and a consistent attachment to an introspective approach to independent songwriting.
