Slimka

Born in Geneva, Slimka, real name Cassim Sall, established himself in the Francophone Swiss rap scene from the mid-2010s, in the wake of the Geneva collective Superwak Clique alongside Makala and Di-Meh. His path begins with stage appearances and projects from his circle before the release of the mixtape No Bad, Vol. 1 in 2017, followed by No Bad, Vol. 2 in 2018. Slimka develops a rap at the crossroads of Francophone hip-hop and trap, with compact writing, nervous hooks and a highly mobile way of delivering his voice, between nonchalance, rhythm breaks and more melodic phrasing. This aesthetic continues with the EP Tunnel Vision Prelude in 2020 and then the album Tunnel Vision in 2021, where one finds collaborations with Di-Meh, Laylow, Jok’Air, Roshi, Makala and Varnish La Piscine, among others. In 2022, Slimka released the EP 6KLOP, before returning with the album Le Grand Mystico in 2024. Anchored in the Geneva scene but regularly present in a wider rap circuit between Switzerland, France and Belgium, Slimka circulates a universe marked by urban imagery, a taste for tense atmospheres and a way of mixing front-facing energy with more floating detours.
