Skizzy Mars
Born in Harlem, New York, in 1993 as Myles Mills, Skizzy Mars emerged in the early 2010s with a rap style defined by smooth flows, melodic hooks and songwriting influenced by both hip-hop and pop/indie sensibilities. After leaving college shortly after enrolling, he gained recognition online with several short projects, notably Phases (2013) and Pace (2014), which established a format of concise tracks focused on relationships, nightlife and the uncertainties of coming of age. He continued this approach with the EP The Red Balloon Project (2015) and his debut album Alone Together (2016). Skizzy Mars followed with Are You Ok? (2018), Free Skizzy Mars (2019) and Fun & Problems (2021), maintaining an aesthetic at the crossroads of rap, alternative pop and a more introspective hip-hop. Throughout his career he has also collaborated with artists such as G-Eazy, Marc E. Bassy, Logic and Jasmine Thompson.
