Senser
Emerging from the London alternative scene around the turn of the 1990s, Senser established itself as a British band blending rock, metal and hip hop in a formula close to rap rock and crossover. Built around a duo of rapped and sung vocals, a DJ and a rock rhythm section, the band developed a sound based on heavy guitars, rap-inspired rhythms, samples and electronic textures, with lyrics focusing on social and political themes. Senser gained attention in the UK in the early 1990s and released the album Stacked Up in 1994, which anchored the group in the era’s fusion movement. Their career has since been marked by lineup changes, hiatuses and several reformations, while maintaining a hybrid orientation between rap, alternative metal and industrial influences. From the 2000s onwards, Senser resumed regular activity in the studio and on stage with new albums and tours, continuing their approach of combining rock energy, rap flow and electronic arrangements on independent stages across Britain and Europe.
