Biohazard
Born in Brooklyn, New York in the late 1980s, Biohazard developed a crossover between hardcore, thrash metal and hip‑hop rooted in the urban aesthetic of their hometown. Formed around Evan Seinfeld, Billy Graziadei, Bobby Hambel and Danny Schuler, the band emerged from the New York hardcore scene before gradually moving toward metal. Their self‑titled debut was released in 1990, followed by "Urban Discipline" in 1992, where the defining elements of their style take shape: heavy riffs, pronounced rhythms, and a mix of shouted vocals and rapped sections. "State of the World Address" (1994) and "Mata Leão" (1996) confirmed this direction, while a collaboration with Onyx for the "Judgment Night" soundtrack exemplified Biohazard's connection to hardcore rap. The discography continued with "New World Disorder" (1999), "Uncivilization" (2001), "Kill or Be Killed" (2003), "Means to an End" (2005) and "Reborn in Defiance" (2012), across lineup changes and hiatuses. Active on international metal and hardcore stages, Biohazard alternates touring, reunions of the so‑called classic lineup and members' side projects, while remaining associated with a hybrid approach to New York hardcore.
