Sahar Z

Active since 1996, Sahar Z, whose real name is Sahar Zangilevitch, has developed from Israel and the Tel Aviv scene a career rooted in house, progressive house and a dense, melodic and often tense tech house. Sahar Z began DJing after his military service, notably at Haoman 17, and gradually established himself on the international club circuit while remaining tied to Tel Aviv’s nightlife, where he was a resident at Cat & Dog. His work as a producer is built around tracks with long progressions, dark textures and prominent melodic lines, in an aesthetic that moves between deep, progressive and techno-house without tipping into abstraction. Over the years Sahar Z has collaborated with several Israeli producers, including Guy J, Guy Gerber, Guy Mantzur, Vic F and Chicola. His discography notably includes the album Time, released in 2014 with Guy Mantzur, as well as releases such as Hazui with Guy J in 2006, Sneaky Monkey in 2009, Ollie with Vic F in 2018, Guts Over Fear with Vic F in 2019 and Mixed Feelings / Zikaron in 2020. Sahar Z is also associated with the Lost & Found label, an imprint of Bedrock, and co-founded Armadillo Records with Guy J in 2017.
