Rymz

Rooted in the rap scene of Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec, Rymz began in the early 2010s to shape a world marked by raw vocabulary, highly narrative imagery, and an introspective tone. He gradually made his mark on the Montreal scene through freestyles and collaborations, then shaped his discography with the collaborative album “Exorde,” created with producer Farfadet in 2012. In 2016, Rymz followed up with “Petit prince,” his first solo album, which established a palette blending Francophone rap, melodic trap, and sung hooks, before extending that vein with “Déjà mort” in 2018 and “Faiseur de pluie” in 2020. Rymz’s music alternates between dark tracks centered on urban everyday life, more introspective pieces about relationships and family, and songs driven by vivid, image-rich writing that at times borders on cinematic storytelling. Highly active as a featured artist within Quebec rap, Rymz collaborates with a wide range of the province’s MCs and producers, maintaining a constant connection to local club and festival scenes and solidifying his status as a mainstay of Francophone hip-hop in Quebec.
