Reino Nordin

Born in 1983 in Finland, Reino Nordin has, since the late 1990s, pursued a career split between music and film. His musical identity centers on a blend of reggae, pop and R&B sung in Finnish. He first attracted attention as the singer and frontman of Reino & The Rhinos, with whom he released Tähän tyyliin in 2008, the EP Nuoret siivet in 2009 and Kohti huomista in 2012. He has also played percussion in several acts on the Finnish scene, notably Jazzgangsters, Soul Captain Band and The Cool Sheiks, and has at times used the stage names Bongo Rhino and Juniori Reino. As a solo artist he moved toward a more direct songwriting approach, where Caribbean rhythms, soul and contemporary pop meet in concise tracks — a direction apparent on Bongo Rock (2014), Antaudun (2017), Cara Mia (2019) and Kääntöpuolii (2023). Alongside his musical career, he has maintained a steady acting presence in film and television, situating his work within a broader context than the Finnish pop scene alone.
