Redeyes

Anchored in the French drum and bass scene since the mid-2000s, Redeyes has built a career as a producer and DJ focused on a sound that is both speedy and warm, where crisp breaks, supple basslines and soul- or jazz-inflected harmonies take precedence over blunt impact. His first maxi singles circulated quickly beyond France and led him to several British labels in the liquid and soulful current, including Creative Source, Innerground and The North Quarter, placing Redeyes in an ongoing dialogue between the French and English scenes. Over the years Redeyes has evolved his writing from luminous liquid funk towards more stripped-down, sometimes introspective tracks, without losing his sense of melody or the rhythmic precision that runs through his sets and productions. His work is mainly solo, with occasional collaborations within the drum and bass orbit, and remains connected to clubs, nights and festivals devoted to bass music across Europe.
