Zero T

Under the name Zero T, Cian McCann has been developing a drum and bass style since the late 1990s that is soulful, precise and agile, moving between liquid, jazz-inflected textures, sung choruses and more rolling rhythms. Born in Ireland, initially active in Dublin’s scene around Bassbin and later based in London, Zero T released his first tracks in 1999, first under the name Zero Tolerance before shortening it to Zero T. His career has combined solo productions, collaborations and remixes, with regular exchanges with artists such as Calibre, Steo, Beta 2, Fierce and Phase. Zero T has released music on labels including CIA Records, Metalheadz, Dispatch, Integral, Shogun Audio, The North Quarter and Sofa Sound Bristol, while launching Footprints in the early 2010s. His discography notably includes the albums Cheap Shots (2008), Golden Section (2015) and Little Pieces (2018). At the same time, Zero T remains highly active as a DJ, with sets that reflect the same breadth as his productions — from vocal tracks and supple grooves to more direct club energy.
