Sergent Garcia

Sergent Garcia, the stage name of French musician Bruno Garcia, energetically blends cumbia, salsa, ragga and Latin sounds to create a style he calls salsamuffin, which has been his signature since the late 1990s. Driven by festive brass, lilting rhythms and a punk spirit, he popularized this fusion with his landmark album Viva el Sargento (1997), followed by notable works such as Un poquito quema (1999) and Sin Fronteras (2001), which established him as a key figure in Latin music in Europe. Committed, generous on stage and constantly on the move, Sergent Garcia has since multiplied collaborations and shuttled between Paris, Barcelona and Latin America, where he draws the essence of a free, sunlit and decidedly hybrid sound.
