Ragga Twins

Ragga Twins are a ragga and jungle MC duo formed in Hackney, east London, comprising Deman Rocker (David Destouche) and Flinty Badman (Trevor Destouche), who were initially active within the Unity sound system in the late 1980s. They came to prominence in the early 1990s with a string of singles on Shut Up & Dance — including “Illegal Gunshot,” “Spliffhead,” “Hooligan 69,” and “Mixed Truth” — blending dancehall‑derived flows, ragga vocal style and breakbeat structures that accompanied the birth of London jungle, before releasing the album Reggae Owes Me Money in 1991. The duo returned with Rinsin’ Lyrics in 1995 on Positiva and Keep On Chant in 2003, while remaining present on maxis and compilations, notably Ragga Twins Step Out released by Soul Jazz Records in 2008.
