Patoranking

Born in Lagos, Nigeria, in the Ijegun‑Egba area of Satellite Town, and originating from a family from Onicha in Ebonyi State, Patoranking built his career on local stages, a stint in Ghana and early underground collaborations before emerging more widely in the early 2010s. His style blends afrobeats, reggae and dancehall, with a flexible vocal delivery, melodic hooks and diction shaped by West African dancehall conventions. After independently released tracks, he gained greater attention with “Alubarika” in 2013 alongside Timaya, then with “Girlie O” in 2014, a song that firmly established his name in the African pop scene. He has since collaborated with artists such as Tiwa Savage, Wande Coal, Sarkodie and Diamond Platnumz, while consolidating a career across Nigeria, Ghana and the diaspora. Patoranking then developed his discography across several albums, from God Over Everything (2016) to Wilmer (2019), Three (2020) and World Best (2023), maintaining a trajectory where dancehall energy dialogues with broader afropop productions.
