Noga Erez

Between electronic pop, alternative hip-hop and experimental songwriting, Noga Erez has developed a strongly rhythmic and contrastive identity since the mid-2010s. Based in Tel Aviv, the Israeli artist drew attention with a series of densely produced singles that culminated in a debut album, Off the Radar, released in 2017 on the Berlin label City Slang. On it she combines percussive beats, prominent basslines and short melodic motifs, propelled by a mostly English spoken-sung flow and lyrics often rooted in her social and political surroundings. In the studio as on stage, the construction of the tracks relies on a close collaboration with producer and co-writer Ori Rousso, a partnership that becomes one of the central pillars of the Noga Erez project. With Kids, released in 2021, the musician pushes further the interplay between accessible pop structures, rap energy and electronic tensions, while retaining a taste for tempo changes and minimalist arrangements. Through tours in clubs and festivals across Israel, Europe and North America, Noga Erez has consolidated a repertoire conceived both for headphone listening and for a physical stage presence, where voice, rhythms and electronic textures remain at the heart of her aesthetic.
