Paris Combo

Born in Paris in 1995, Paris Combo brought together from the outset musicians with varied backgrounds around the singer Belle du Berry, who carried the group's identity until her passing in 2020. The band develops a writing style that sits at the crossroads of French chanson, jazz, swing, pop and cabaret spirit, with Latin and Gypsy touches that give its tracks a movable color without confining them to a single category. This aesthetic can be heard already on Paris Combo in 1997, then on Living-Room in 1999, Attraction in 2001 and Motifs in 2004, a period during which Paris Combo established itself on stage in France as well as internationally. After a mid-2000s pause, Paris Combo resumed activity in the early 2010s, continued touring and released 5 in 2014, Tako Tsubo in 2017 and Quesaco? in 2022. The lineup rests on a flexible collective playing, where voice, guitar, trumpet, piano, drums and double bass circulate between acoustic swing, dance rhythms and chanson melodies. Marked by Belle du Berry’s history but still active, Paris Combo preserves this very Parisian and cosmopolitan blend that has run through its repertoire since its beginnings.
