Moein
Born in Najafabad, in central Iran, Nassrollah Moein Najafabadi—better known as Moein—belongs to the tradition of Persian pop shaped by classical vocal art. Trained from an early age in singing and traditional repertoires, he launched his career in the late 1970s, and his first songs spread widely in the 1980s within the Iranian diaspora based in Los Angeles. His work blends romantic ballads, the legacy of Iranian classical music, and pop arrangements, led by a prominently featured voice, a preference for slow to mid-tempo melodies, and lyrics devoted to love, separation, and longing for the homeland. Having lived outside Iran for many years, Moein balances studio recordings with regular tours across North America, Europe, and the Middle East, performing for audiences largely drawn from the diaspora. Over the years, he has collaborated with various lyricists, composers, and arrangers on the transnational Persian scene, consolidating a repertoire disseminated mainly through concerts and through the successive releases and reissues of his albums.
