Oldelaf
Oldelaf, whose real name is Olivier Delafosse, is a French singer known for his lyric-driven songs. For about ten years he was part of the group Oldelaf et Monsieur D, with whom he played an extensive tour of concerts in small Parisian venues before heading to Québec. From 2000 to 2010 Oldelaf and Monsieur D performed nearly 500 shows worldwide, getting audiences to dance to their three albums, «Chansons cons», «L’album de la Maturité» and «Dernière chance d’être disque d’or». Oldelaf is partly famous for his delirious and utterly mad song «Le café», released in 2006, in which he recounts the day of a coffee addict. Their video posted online amassed three million views in a year and a half. Recommended by a children’s book publisher, Oldelaf wrote a children’s album of songs in 2008 titled «Bête et méchant», which was awarded by the Académie Charles Cros. Oldelaf’s comic and distinctive lyrics have made him one of the leading figures of French lyric-driven song. In 2011, drawing on all these musical experiences, Oldelaf returned with a new solo album, «Le monde est beau», and embarked on a 2013 tour of concerts in France and across Europe.
