Mouss & Hakim
In Toulouse, brothers Mustapha and Hakim Amokrane have built a path that runs through several projects connected to the same musical and social history. Members of Zebda since the 1980s, Mouss and Hakim continued this trajectory with 100 % Collègues, Motivés and Origines Contrôlées — projects where popular song, rock, reggae, music from the Maghreb and repertoires linked to memories of immigration intersect. As Mouss et Hakim, the duo further tightens their approach around voices, text and storytelling, while preserving the collective energy of the Toulouse scene. Their work moves between concerts, reinterpretations of musical heritage and transmission (educational) projects, with collaborations over time with artists such as Manu Chao, Brigitte Fontaine and Olivia Ruiz. In 2022 Mouss et Hakim released Darons de la Garonne, an album conceived from previously unpublished texts by Claude Nougaro, continuing a dialogue between French chanson, popular cultures, local roots and Mediterranean influences.
