Les Hurlements d'Léo
Born in Bordeaux in the mid-1990s, the collective Les Hurlements d'Léo is part of the French alternative rock movement, blending chanson, ska, punk accents and musette-tinged sounds. Formed in 1996 around an initial nucleus that grew over time, Les Hurlements d'Léo champions a group aesthetic with a variable lineup, where guitars, accordion and brass shape a repertoire marked by social storytelling and a strong commitment to live performance. The band drew attention at the end of the decade with the album Les Hurlements d'Léo (1998), followed by La belle affaire (2000) and Oeuf (2003), which confirmed their grounding in energetic rock chanson. In 2002, the collaboration with Les Ogres de Barback on the live project Un air, deux familles established Les Hurlements d'Léo within a network of joint tours and alternative festivals across France and Europe. The discography continued with Ouest Terne (2006), Bordel de luxe (2011), a tribute to Renaud with Chantent Renaud (2016), then Luna de papel (2018) and Mondial Stéréo (2020), where Les Hurlements d'Léo further developed their mix of engaged songwriting, rock energy and collective arrangements conceived for the stage.
