Lyna Mahyem
Born in Paris in 1995 and raised in Argenteuil, Lyna Mahyem developed an early practice of writing and singing, first through covers and piano compositions before her first studio sessions in the early 2010s. Franco‑Algerian, she situates her music within French‑language R&B nourished by urban pop, melodic rap and North African inflections, with a clear emphasis on sung choruses and personal storytelling. Her name reached a wider audience in 2016 with her take on “92i Veyron,” and her trajectory was shaped by the EP Avec mes ladies in 2015, the mixtape LM in 2017, and the albums Femme forte (2020), Authentic (2022) and Mon âme (2024), released in two parts. Across these projects Lyna Mahyem alternates between introspective tracks, more rhythm-driven songs and collaborations with artists from the French rap and R&B scenes—among them Imen Es, Franglish, S.Pri Noir, Zaho, Jok’air, as well as Jul and Soprano as part of Le Classico in 2021. She thus operates within a French urban scene where chanson, rap and R&B intersect.
