Based in the British capital since the mid-2000s, Anthea has established herself as a DJ and producer with a restrained vision of house and techno. Anthea Nzekwu first drew attention in intimate clubs and afters where minimal, micro-house and dub influences intersected, before releasing her first maxis and expanding collaborations with producers connected to the European scenes in Berlin and Bucharest. Her sets combine supple grooves, repetitive basslines and a delicate handling of textures, with forays into acid, breaks and more psychedelic moods, while remaining focused on dancefloor dynamics. Balancing international DJ work with studio time, Anthea has gradually defined a recognizable aesthetic—long progressions, discreet rhythmic details and a taste for extended formats. Alongside releases on several house and techno labels, she also shapes her universe through Partisan, a UK-based outfit that allows her to champion a personal approach to club music and support producers close to her sensibility, extended by projects like Pillz x Partisan and a steady presence on club and festival bills across Europe and beyond.
