Kiko
Coming out of Grenoble’s electronic scene in the early 1990s, Kiko first appeared alongside Oxia in the duo Phunky Data before continuing solo on a path focused on techno, electro and a taut house crafted for the club. Around Kiko you find the same generation as The Hacker and Miss Kittin, in a French context where rave culture, acidic machines and a taste for synthetic melodies intersected. As a solo artist Kiko notably released the track “World Cup” in 1998 and the album Slave Of My Mind in 2001, two landmarks in a discography that later moved toward more melodic and progressive forms without abandoning the dancefloor axis. A regular DJ in France and abroad, Kiko has for more than two decades alternated label releases, one-off collaborations and sets combining direct techno, house grooves and electro textures. His trajectory thus spans the raves of the 1990s, the electroclash aesthetic of the 2000s and contemporary club circuits, with a practice that remains tied to the history of the French electronic scene.
