Kiefer Sutherland

Born in London in 1966 and raised mainly in Canada, Kiefer Sutherland has developed a dual career as an actor and musician that he pursues simultaneously. Since the mid-1980s he has built a steady filmography, with notable roles in Stand by Me and The Lost Boys leading up to the TV series 24, in which he portrays Jack Bauer, and later Designated Survivor. On the music side, Sutherland has gravitated toward country rock and Americana, writing narrative songs with spare, folk-tinged arrangements. After years performing in bars and small venues, he released his first studio album, Down in a Hole, in 2016—co-written with producer Jude Cole—followed by Reckless & Me in 2019, where he refined a style centered on his deep voice, guitars and autobiographical lyrics, before returning in 2022 with Bloor Street, marked by references to his life between Toronto, Los Angeles and London. The alternation between shoots and tours now structures Sutherland’s work; he divides his time between film and television sets and concert stages.
