Kid Wise

Formed in Toulouse in the early 2010s, Kid Wise brought together several musicians around a writing that sits between indie pop, electropop and progressive pop, with a strong emphasis on keyboards, guitars and string arrangements. The band released its first EP, La Sagesse, in 2012, followed by Renaissance in 2014, before being selected among the iNOUïS of the Printemps de Bourges that same year. Kid Wise then developed a broad melodic pop, threaded with electronic textures, a taste for rising crescendos and a writing that alternates between English and French. This period was accompanied by performances on several stages and festivals, including Solidays, Garorock, the Montreux Jazz Festival and the Brussels Summer Festival in 2015. Kid Wise subsequently released two albums, L’Innocence in 2015 and Les Vivants in 2017, which extend this aesthetic between pop lyricism, rock tension and synthetic atmospheres. Active until 2018, the Toulouse collective parted ways after a few years of activity, leaving a short discography built around an expanded band format and a sound that is both orchestral and electronic.
