Guylaine Tanguay

Born in Girardville, Quebec, Guylaine Tanguay has been part of the francophone Quebec country scene since the late 1980s. Her recording career began with Perte de contrôle in 1988 and evolved through albums that blend traditional country, popular song and covers adapted to the Quebec repertoire, including Naturelle (2005), Le Livre Vert (2012), Nashville (2018), Country (2020) and C’est ma vie (2024). She has also released several reinterpretation projects—notably Ginette à ma façon, Céline à ma façon and Vos coups de cœur à ma façon, all released in 2022—which extend her work as an interpreter in an accessible register focused on melodies, everyday stories and a straightforward country aesthetic. Active on Quebec’s venues and festival circuit, Guylaine Tanguay operates in a musical world where North American country tradition meets francophone song, with a strong emphasis on adaptations, thematic albums and holiday repertoires.
