Insecure Men

Born in London around 2015, Insecure Men takes shape as Saul Adamczewski’s writing project, then on the fringes of Fat White Family, before becoming a full-fledged band with musician and producer Ben Romans-Hopcraft. The duo develops an oblique pop where art pop, chamber pop, lounge, exotica and psychedelic rock cross, with flexible arrangements, highly crafted melodies and a marked taste for tonal shifts. Insecure Men released their first self-titled album, Insecure Men, in 2018, a record that departs from the more abrasive aesthetics associated with Adamczewski’s previous trajectory and establishes a more introspective universe, made up of winding songs, hushed orchestrations and black humor. The project sits within a London scene where both classic pop references and more experimental forms circulate, while maintaining a distinct identity, at once melodic and unstable. Insecure Men is also connected to a circle of musicians from the British indie rock scene, but the band advances mainly through composition work and writing that blends fragility, irony and social observation.
