Intervals
Intervals is a progressive metal project from Canada, founded by guitarist and composer Aaron Marshall. Born from a deliberate technical and melodic approach, Intervals blends virtuosic precision, architected riffs, complex grooves and airy harmonies in a style that ranges from prog metal to djent, with fusion and electronic touches. Initially launched as a band, Intervals quickly became Aaron Marshall’s main creative outlet, a writing platform centered on the modern guitar. The first EPs, The Space Between (2011) and In Time (2012) established an ambitious instrumental sonic identity, confirmed by the albums A Voice Within (2014), The Shape of Colour (2015), The Way Forward (2017) and Circadian (2020), all marked by a constant search for balance between technicality, musicality and storytelling. Intervals has become a reference point in contemporary progressive metal, recognized for tightly crafted, dynamic and detailed compositions, driven by razor‑precise execution and songwriting that prioritizes fluidity, tension and impact.
