Föllakzoid

Born in Santiago in 2007, Föllakzoid first developed as a psychedelic rock band before gradually focusing around Domingo García-Huidobro, today at the helm of the solo project. Föllakzoid's music fuses a krautrock and space rock foundation with repetitive motifs, electronic textures, and a rhythmic approach that over the years has moved closer to a form of minimal techno, without breaking with a marked psychedelic heritage. After a first self-titled album released in 2009, Föllakzoid released II in 2013 and III in 2015, a record that extends this shift toward a more motoric and hypnotic aesthetic. The project then toured internationally and appeared at festivals such as All Tomorrow's Parties or Lollapalooza. The collaboration with Uwe Schmidt subsequently accompanied a new phase, evident on I in 2019 and then V in 2023, where structures become more stripped and more electronic. In the meantime, Föllakzoid also released London Sessions in 2017 with J. Spaceman. Based in Mexico City, Domingo García-Huidobro is now evolving Föllakzoid into a more open format, at the crossroads of psychedelia, repetitive trance, and a dry, immersive electronic sound.
