DROELOE
Born in Utrecht, the Netherlands, DROELOE took shape in 2016 around Vincent Rooijers and Hein Hamers, who met at the HKU Utrecht School of Arts—where the former studied music and composition and the latter came from visual arts. The project occupies melodic electronic territory between future bass, EDM and electronic pop, with a strong focus on textures, supple rhythms and processed vocals. Initially conceived as a duo, DROELOE quickly developed a coherent audiovisual identity and appeared on international electronic stages, notably thanks to releases on bitbird and Monstercat. Milestones of this first chapter include the collaboration with San Holo on "Lines of the Broken" in 2017 and the track "Jump" with Nevve the same year. In 2019 DROELOE supported the EP The Choices We Face with a namesake tour. After Hein Hamers' departure in 2020, DROELOE became Vincent Rooijers' solo project, which he steered toward a more narrative and introspective songwriting. This transition is documented by A Matter of Perspective (2020) and by the album The Art of Change (2023).
