Delta Sleep

Formed in Canterbury in 2010 and later based in Brighton, Delta Sleep plays an indie rock that sits at the crossroads of math rock, emo and melodic post-hardcore. The British four-piece first made a name for themselves on the English DIY scene with songs characterised by irregular rhythms, highly articulated guitars and a tense energy, before gradually widening their writing toward more melodic and atmospheric formats. Delta Sleep released Twin Galaxies in 2015, followed by Ghost City in 2018, where the band honed a balance between instrumental tension, more open choruses and often introspective lyrics. With Spring Island (2021) and Blue Garden (2024), Delta Sleep continued this evolution, incorporating more indie-rock nuances and a broader approach to arrangements, without losing their taste for time-signature shifts and winding structures. Propelled by Devon Portielje's voice and a tight collective performance, Delta Sleep has become a regular presence on alternative scenes across tours in Europe, the UK, North America and Asia, where technical rock, direct emotion and melodic sensibility converge.
