Dätcha Mandala

Rooted in Bordeaux's rock scene in France, Dätcha Mandala has been developing a heavy rock sound infused with psychedelia and blues since the late 2000s. The band operates as a power trio and builds much of its identity on rhythmic work and a high-range vocal delivered over saturated guitars and a prominent bass. Aesthetically they draw on the legacy of 1970s hard rock while incorporating folk elements and more airy passages; their repertoire is predominantly in English. After years of playing numerous club and festival shows across France and later Europe, Dätcha Mandala released the album Rokh in 2017, which captured in the studio that mix of heavy riffs, extended structures and gradual buildups often developed live. The 2020 album Hara opened a phase in which the trio explored contrasts between direct, straightforward tracks and slower pieces, confirming the importance of live performance in their songwriting and sonic evolution; they regularly appear on independent rock circuits and in generalist venues.
