Elmer Food Beat
Elmer Food Beat is a festive rock band from Nantes, formed in the late 1980s, known for its cheeky, irreverent humor, irresistibly catchy choruses and unrestrained stage energy. Fronted by singer Manou, the group made its mark early with songs that became cult classics—Daniela, Le plastique c’est fantastique and La caissière de chez Leclerc—mixing rock with mockery and a populist spirit. Their debut album 30 cm (1990) was a huge success and earned them the Victoire de la Musique for Group of the Year in 1991. Beneath the jokes and lightheartedness lies a genuine feel for riffs and a generous stage presence that turns every concert into an uninhibited party. Still active, they continue to tour across France with the same contagious energy and a repertoire that has lost none of its freshness. After more than three decades, Elmer Food Beat remains a symbol of joyful, popular and unpretentious French rock.
