SITA

Based between Barcelona and the international scene, SITA, the stage name of Sita Abellán, develops a project situated between techno, eurodance, new beat, and the Mediterranean club heritage. Initially identified in the worlds of fashion and image, she evolves her work toward DJing and then production, with an aesthetic that links internet culture, the club sounds of the 1990s and 2000s, and a more frontal approach to contemporary techno. Her selections draw from the Valencian Ruta del Bakalao, eurohouse, Belgian new beat and certain codes of the Berlin scene, to build direct, fast sets marked by dark or acidic textures. SITA has played in Ibiza clubs such as Hï Ibiza and DC-10, as well as at several international festivals, including III Points, Sónar Mexico, Secret Project and EDC. In 2022, SITA launched in Barcelona the night OUTOPIA, conceived as a queer-friendly club space and focused on hybrid electronic aesthetics. On the production side, her discography available under the name SITA confirms this orientation between techno, rave energy and deformed pop references, in a coherent continuum with her visual identity and DJ activities.
