Erann DD

Born in Copenhagen in 1967 under the name Erann David Drori, Erann DD is part of a pop-soul nourished by funk, with a supple and melodic voice that marked the Danish scene from the 1990s. He began as the singer of the funk group Zapp Zapp, then continued with the duo Drori-Hansen Furniture alongside bassist Casper Hansen, with the albums For Their Friends (1995) and Family (1996). Erann DD later went solo with Still Believing (2000), followed by That’s the Way for Me (2003), Erann (2006) and Byen kalder (2009), his first album in Danish, which extends his range between adult pop, light soul and rhythm and blues accents. Over the course of his career, Erann DD alternates English-language and Danish-language repertoires, occasional collaborations and more personal formats, while maintaining a songwriting focus on the song. Among his discographic landmarks are also Greatest Hits (2012) and Rockin’ My Life (2015), released under his full name Erann David Drori. His career also includes writing 'When You Hold Me' in 2004 on the occasion of the wedding of Crown Prince Frederik and Mary of Denmark, as well as a duo with Karen Busck on 'Hjertet ser' in 2001.
