Jaimi Faulkner
Born in Melbourne in 1982 and long established in Germany, notably in Düsseldorf after a spell in Berlin, Jaimi Faulkner develops a repertoire at the crossroads of blues, soul, folk, rock and an acoustic pop with supple arrangements. He released his first album, Last Light, in 2004, followed by Back To You in 2006 and Kiss & Ride in 2009, before touring Australia and Europe extensively, both solo and with a band, and supporting acts from rock, chanson and Americana. His live album All I Can appeared in 2010, and Turn Me Around in 2013 marks a more produced step, with brass, strings and the duo “When I Lean In” with Dutch singer Jerusa van Lith. A European version of the Jaimi Faulkner Band forms around him, accompanying the more collective evolution of his shows. Up All Night was released in 2015, followed by Back Road in 2017, recorded after a period of band-work in Northern Germany. Since 2018, Jaimi Faulkner has mostly returned to a solo format, occasionally reuniting his musicians. Allen Keys & Broken Bits appeared in 2022, and Half Of It in 2025. Jaimi Faulkner's music rests on songwriting, a supple vocal delivery and compositions that blend discreet groove, roots guitar and textures that are more contemporary while staying within an organic frame.
