Ström

Formed in Växjö, Sweden, in 2019, Ström develops a hard rock sung in Swedish that draws as much from the direct rock’n’roll of the 70s and 80s as from a more edgy Scandinavian tradition. The band advances on tight compositions driven by straightforward guitars, highly readable choruses and a sense of tempo that favors momentum over showmanship. In Ström’s aesthetic you’ll find elements of melodic hard rock, glam metal and bar-room rock, approached deliberately simply and head-on. From the outset Ström chose Swedish to give their songs a distinct local color while placing them within the familiar language of Nordic hard rock. References such as AC/DC, Kiss in the 80s, The Darkness, Airbourne, D-A-D, Turbonegro and Hardcore Superstar help situate their terrain, but Ström blends these influences into a compact formula without seeking direct quotation. Ström thus belongs to a line of Scandinavian bands committed to efficiency, riff and immediate impact.
