Zement

German trio formed around Philipp Hager, Christian Büdel and Florian Helleken, Zement develops music at the crossroads of experimental rock, psych-rock, neo-krautrock, noise rock and electronic forms oriented toward repetition and trance. Their sound blends motorik rhythms, looping synthesizers, abrasive or saturated guitars, dense bass, insistent percussion, saxophone and vocals processed in an often oblique manner, with a marked taste for hypnotic textures and controlled derailments. In this combination you can hear both the kraut and German psych legacy and more contemporary approaches to repetitive rock and dance electronics. Zement has gradually established this language on record and on stage, notably through releases on the Berlin label Crazysane Records. The band's live trajectory occupies an important place in its development, with regular tours across Europe and the UK, between clubs and festivals, and shared bills with groups like Slift, Minami Deutsch and Russian Circles. Over the course of these dates Zement has affirmed a tight trio formula conceived for movement, tension and duration, where improvisation and pulse remain central.
