Splitterzelle

Located between Portugal and Germany, Splitterzelle brings together Pedro Pestana, also active in 10 000 Russos and Tren Go! Sound System, and Sidney Jaffe, who has been involved with Arcane Allies, Burnpilot, Parse and Ornamental. The project took shape after their collaboration on Assessment in 2021, released under the names Tren Go! Sound System & Ornamental, and was further developed through several Portuguese and German tours that established a more regular working partnership. Officially formed in 2023, Splitterzelle initially operated as a guitar‑and‑drums duo characterized by long hypnotic loops in a space rock and repetitive psychedelic vein, before considerably broadening its approach. The Drumhard Sessions Vol. 1, issued in 2024, documents this first live phase, while the album Splitterzelle, released in 2025, shifts the centre of gravity toward more structured writing built on mechanical rhythms, dark soundscapes and deep bass. In Splitterzelle, the energy of repetitive rock is combined with dense electronic textures — sitting between industrial techno, drone and psychedelic noise — with a sound that retains the physical presence of the performance while moving away from the jam‑based form of its beginnings.
