The Cloverhearts

Around Australian singer-songwriter Sam Cooper, The Cloverhearts have developed since the late 2010s a sound positioned between celtic punk, folk punk and skate punk, featuring direct songwriting, fast choruses and a strong taste for melodies carried by bagpipes and tin whistle. The Cloverhearts thus insert a very frontal punk energy into a more festive framework, nourished as much by pub rock as by melodic punk rock. Formed in Australia, the band first stood out on the contemporary celtic punk scene before expanding internationally with shows in Europe, the UK and Japan. The Cloverhearts have also shared bills with several acts from the punk and folk-punk circuit, including The Mahones, Flogging Molly, Ferocious Dog, Zebrahead and Booze & Glory — a trajectory that clearly places the band within a transnational scene where Celtic traditions, punk culture and festival formats intersect. Along this path, The Cloverhearts make personal narratives, rock tension and folk instrumentation coexist without tipping into traditional pastiche.
